Walking the "red corridor"

For the politicians in this country walking the 'red carpets' has become a business as usual. Today Bollywood icons are more and more eying to walk the 'red carpets' in "Cannes" and "London", rather than trying to remain afloat walking the ramps within the glamour corridors of India. In the post independent India "power and paisa" have surely become a "fevicol ka jod" for the politicians as well as for the affluent in the society. Unfortunately they only constitute just a small fraction of the Pie "India". The rest of this pie constitute the "Aam Aadmi", a tribe that remains constantly harassed by inflation and insecurity as well as poverty and prejudice. For this lot the proverbial "sun shine" seems to remain in perpetual eclipse. Way back in 60's a movement got initiated by the peasants and tribals in this country to fight against exploitations and atrocities of the zamindars and th

It's my "Common Sense" after all..!

Being an "Aam Aadmi" it will always remain a "common sense" for me to keep promoting "communal harmony" in order to reduce as well avoid any communal disturbance in my immediate neighbour hood. Also it will make a "common sense" for me to work towards "religious tolerance" within the community that I live in, to prevent flare-ups of "religious sentiments. Again it will make a lot of "common sense" for me to devote "quality time" for removing 'cast bias' among the members of the society, so that I don't get tensed up when any member in my family decides to marry outside the 'cast'. It will again be my "common sense" that I muster support from the members of the society to fight against any kind of 'discrimination' based on cast, gender and religion, so that as a "society" we are able to keep alive both in "letter & spirit" the basic values of &q

Nobody's Business...

On a broad day light when I am robbed at the point of gun, nobody comes for my rescue, because I am nobody's business. When I am dying of hunger, nobody bothers to give me a bite off the "loaf" because I am nobodys's business. When I am raped on the streets, nobody walks forward to save my 'honour' because I am nobody's business. However when I fall in 'love' and want to marry my fiancee, who is of the same "Gothra" as I am , 'I' suddenly become everybody's business and soon our "lives" are cut short in the name of "honour killing". It is sad that in a civilized society that we claim to be living in, such 'atrocities' on 'human lives' are receiving "political patronage" both at national and regional levels. Our "politicians bazaar" today remains thriving with vote "banking politics", so much so that the country today has no "political leadership", with

What is your "cast"..?

We do carry on pretending to be progressive and broadminded. However the fact remains that we still both as individuals as well as a community continue to remain emotionally aggressive when it comes to our "cast". "castisim" therefore is one of the most 'vicious' bullets that our political parties use for gunning their victory at election as well for staying in power. 'Cast' definitely continue to remain on the forefront in elections both at Gram panchayat level and state level. They also remain very vibrant at the national level in "general elections". In spite of our "Democracy" and the "Preambles" of our constitution we as a nation still have no "political will" to "castaway" "cast" from politics. Inclusion of "CAST COUNT" in the coming up national "CENSUS" is a proof that no political parties in this country has today any serious and sincere "agenda"

'Proud' to be 'Indian' am "I"..?

My chest swelled with "pride" when President Obama hailed "India" indispensable. I truly feel blessed to have been born into the country which is the land of "Himalayas' the world's tallest mountain. I am also thrilled that my "INDIA" is the land of many mysteries and fascinations, that all desire to see. I feel privileged to be a a citizen of a country which is the world's largest and oldest democracy and contains an amazing wealth of wisdom, culture and spirituality. I feel great and an "honoured Indian" when I realize that this country gave the world an universal leader called "GANDHI", a lean bespectacled and a 'barely clad' person who was able to garnish enough strength to bring the great "British Empire" to her knees, forcing her to quit "INDIA". However where there is pride, prejudice does follow. May be therefore when I say I am proud to be Indian, I also remain 'pis
