Stirred, not shaken..

A couple of 'martini' always does help me in not mincing words when I speak. But I swear I am not an alcoholic. I am hardly any good in mixing drinks. Anyway I don't give a damn to anybody.... Well that's precisely is what is happening to the great Indian democracy. Nobody gives a damn to anybody. Right from the PM to the glorified political strategists in the South Block, right from Finance & Home Minister to the Babus in North Block.. nobody gives a damn to, the country and to the people. The prevailing scenarios on the streets and the corridors of power & politics may not be signalling the demise of rule of law in this country but they sure are emerging signs of a decaying political system of a parliamentary democracy... How should we react to the UPA government's move to coronate RahulGandhi as the Prime Minister without taking People's mandate.? Unfortunately our Prime Minister in power does not like interfering in family affairs, nor does he beli

Who hauled away our "Wisdom"..?

I never remember visiting the dentist for extracting my wisdom tooth. Now going by the statistical data, does that make me part of the 35% of population who have no 'wisdom' tooth'.Who cares. I still have teeth enough to chew away my frustrations of being on the electoral roll of world's largest democracy. Democracy has always remained an instant fascination for most of us. The concept "for the people, by the people, of the people" always make us feel great in spite of being just ordinary people. However what continues to surprise me, is the fact that we keep failing in making a right choice of electing a right political party to power. I realize we hardly have any choice. No point therefore to discredit our intelligence for our failure. Anyways how long can we continue to ignore our fundamental right to demand good governance. We are all members of the civil society, yet many like me will never endorse killing all our waking & productive hours i

For the 'undressed minds'...

My general awareness took a beating when I realized my ignorance about the usage of a term called 'Slut-Walk'. I will not blame it to my public diplomacy or the lack of it. I would prefer instead walking straight into understanding what this 'walk' is all about. 'Slut Walks' are protest march against sexual violence against women. The movement started at Toronto is now gaining ground across the globe... When it comes to sexual attacks on women with reference to India Delhi obviously score a ten on ten. A politically polluted police force and a don't care"CM"has proved helpful in taking the daily count of rapes in the city beyond our finger counts. Delhi thus become an eligible venue for heralding the movement into India. 'Slut Walking' is a collective people's response to a non- responsive political & police attitude, which keep blaming the woman's individual dress code the cause for the mounting rapes and molestati

Ticket to politics..

Hats off to UPA's generosity. They continue to deliver one blunder after the other. They are practically serving on the platters, scams after scams for the opposition parties to take on them. However a 'not so' united opposition and a politically unwise BJP are not able to muster enough grit & valor to seize these as opportunities to replace a bad governance with good governance. There is nothing wrong with our democracy. What can democracy do if our parliament proves a helpless spectator watching the "man" at the helm succumbing to back seat driving. It is not that the country has not progressed in spite and not withstanding economics of corruptions & black money. However the potential for our growth remains grossly under used because of vested agenda and decaying politics. Coming to politics... how can ?...the seasoned & veteran politicians and political parties allow a yoga guru to go around splurging money and making mockery of politics

Being pessimist..?

The ordinary people spread across 28 states and seven union territories do definitely go through some linguistic & cultural pressure in communicating. However such pressures doesn't change the way they fight to cope up with their everyday struggles for existence. They continue to walk their life, dreaming their hope and drumming their little happiness celebrating festivals and rejoicing their hypocrisy by placing politicians and god men on the pedestals of the very creators. Tomorrow my city Delhi will be ready for Ram Dev Baba's grandeur 'hunger strike', splurging money power and the showmanship of hypocrisy. The venue "Ramlila ground" which has been for ages trying to burn the effigy of "Ravana"will once again fail to stop of the birth of yet another political movement that promises to hoodwink the people almost the way "Ravana" in "Ramayana" took away Sita.. Though being one among the ordinary, I don
